Preparation and Handling Precautions

• Curing Required: Tree Trunk Wood should be cured before introduction to ensure optimal water quality.
• Basic Curing (for new setups or light use):
  - Soak in warm water for 24 hours.
  - Rinse thoroughly before placing in your layout.
• Intensive Curing (for established aquariums with livestock)
  - Boil for 30–60 minutes to remove potential contaminants and tannins.
  - Then soak in fresh water, changing daily, until the water runs clear.
• Gradual Introduction: Introduce gradually to avoid sudden water chemistry shifts.

Initial Buoyancy

• Wood may float initially. Soak for up to a month or temporarily secure using rocks, anchors, or WIO’s ScapeGlue Kits until fully waterlogged.

Natural Organic Material

• Each piece varies in shape, color, and detail. These natural differences enhance layout uniqueness.

Water Monitoring

• Tree Trunk Wood releases minimal tannins, but some may be present in the early stages.
• Maintain kH ≥ 3 to stabilize pH and buffer water chemistry.
• Test pH, kH, and gH weekly during the first few weeks.
• Conduct partial water changes as needed to control water color and maintain balance.
• Biofilm or saprolegnia may develop temporarily-this is natural and beneficial. Remove manually if desired; it typically subsides on its own.

Placement

• Design Natural Forest Scenes: Use Tree Trunk Wood vertically to simulate forest trunks. Combine several pieces at different angles and heights to evoke scale and realism.
• Enhance depth perception by arranging from front to back with increasing height.
