Preparation and Handling Precautions

• Curing Required: Neptune Wood is a natural material and should be cured before introducing it into aquatic or terrarium setups.
• Basic Curing (for new aquariums or small loads):
  - Soak in warm water for 24 hours.
  - Rinse thoroughly before placement.
• Intensive Curing (for established aquariums with livestock)
  - Boil for 30–60 minutes to remove potential contaminants.
  - Then soak in clean water, changing the water daily, until it runs clear.
• Gradual Introduction: Always introduce wood gradually to prevent rapid shifts in water chemistry. Start with small pieces when in doubt.
  Natural Organic Material
• Each piece is unique-variations in shape, size, texture, and color are natural and should be expected.
• Water Monitoring
• Although Neptune Wood releases little to no tannins, it may still subtly influence pH.
• Regular testing of pH, kH, and gH is essential, especially during the first few weeks.
• Perform weekly pH tests and carry out partial water changes if needed to stabilize water chemistry.
• Biofilm formation is a natural process and beneficial to tank ecology-it will diminish over time or can be removed manually if desired.
