GLACIER
Inspired by the cold glacier waters of Lake McDonald in the USA.
One of our favourites! This kit includes our Glacier Biotope Bed, a truly natural blend of gravel and pebbles, inspired by the mountain lakes of North America. This richly coloured and engaging substrate is perfect for rheophilic or lentic biotopes or for adding detail and gradients to aquascapes. Also included is a carefully chosen selection of beautiful McDonald Lake Boulders. These richly coloured, smooth, and diverse stones offer a selection of cool greys, warm ochre reds, soft yellows and burnished orange deliver a striking, yet visually soft aesthetic and are perfect for suggesting the rushing dynamics of a flowing stream or the gentle, lapping shores of a mountain lake. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Dark substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which adds contrast to the brighter stones while combining with the dark gravels.

IBON
Inspired by the high-altitude lakes, known as Ibons, of the Pyrenees mountains.
Here we provide our Ibon Biotope Bed, inspired by high mountain rivers and streams, where rock shale and rubble are worn by the water into smooth cool pebbles.
It contains light sand, blended with small dark smooth stones which provide high contrast. Also included are a variety of sizes of our Black Venom Boulders, whose dark, solid forms offer a bold presence within the display. When wet, all the stones in this kit glisten and shine beautifully and become darker, bringing stark contrast to green plants, and generating a moody ambience. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Dark substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which will combine well with the dark aesthetic of the hardscape.

CRIKEY
Inspired by the Great Red Continent, Australia.
This kit contains our Crikey Biotope Bed, comprised of blended sand and reddish gravel, mixed with crushed pieces of red lava rocks. Added to this is a selection of botanicals and even some tiny snail shells! We include a selection of Etna Stones in different sizes, which display warm, earthy colours and have a strong presence due to their angular forms. The combination of ochre colours conjures up visions of the Great Red Continent and the woody material and shells add dark and light contrast and detail. This would be the perfect addition to a biotope for small Rainbowfishes or even a paludarium-style display for crabs! Finally, we include our red-coloured Wetland Artist Terra substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which blends in with the colours of the scene.

NAUTILUS LIGHT
Inspired by the karst streams of Bonito in western Brazil.
This kit contains our beautiful Nautilus Light Biotope Bed, comprised of small, medium and several large shells mixed with a pale sand sprinkled with darker granules. Our Nautilus series is a unique product based on careful research of wild habitats and Nautilus Light is inspired by the substrates & pale shells that are found in the karst streams of Bonito in western Brazil, home to many popular aquarium fishes and plants. Also included are a selection of smooth, dark Black Venom Boulders, one of our favourite hardscapes, which offer high contrast with the substrate and green plants. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Mustard substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which matches the pale colour of the Biotope Bed.

NAUTILUS DARK
Inspired by the Lake Turkana in Africa.
This striking kit contains our unique Nautilus Dark Biotope Bed, full of snail shells in dark and light tones, blended with an earthy brown sand. Whether an aquascaper looking for an unusual and unique alternative to decorative sands and gravels or a biotoper wishing to recreate natural habitats, the Nautilus range is the ideal substrate. This dark version was inspired by images of the bed of Lake Turkana in Africa and by the blends of sand and black snail shells found in streams and ditches in the Pantanal wetlands of Brazil. To complement the substrate, the kit includes Black Venom Stone in S, M and L sizes. These striking stones create instant impact with their dark and jagged features. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Dark substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which combines with the dark stones.

EVERGLADES
Inspired in the sub-tropical lands of North America.
Here we offer our Everglades Biotope Bed, comprised of dried seed pods from North America, magnolia leaves, crushed leaves, pieces of wood and tiny roots to suggest a forest nearby. Also included are pieces of Jade Stone, in S, M and L sizes. This beautiful hardscape displays a malachite green sheen, with darker and lighter streaks and has a strong presence in any display. The matrix of organic materials, sands, and stones might be encountered in a range of habitats, but especially in lowland rivers and swamps, where the slow currents allow leaves, twigs, and other primal matter to sink to the bottom, providing refuge and foraging opportunities for countless animals. Finally, we include our tan-coloured Wetland Artist Mustard substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which combines perfectly with the colours of the Everglades Biotope Bed.

MERE
Inspired by Pool Malebo in Congo, Africa.
This Kit contains our Mere Biotope Bed, which offers an organic, warm, and interesting dynamic to your display. Inspired by the mellow sands and forest debris found in the mighty Pool Malebo of the Congo River in Africa, it contains warm-coloured sand, small stones and gravel and pieces of woody material. Also included are pieces of our Bumblebee Stone, which offers shades of grey, and a slight granite feel, with darker patches and scars on the face of the stone. This kit is perfect for mimicking the habitats of deltas, lakes, and lagoons, where organic material has been deposited by currents and floods. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Mustard substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which blends harmoniously with the colours of the display.

RIVULET
Inspired by Yakushima Island in Japan.
This kit contains our Rivulet Biotope Bed, a highly authentic natural substrate created by carefully blending and balancing natural materials including pale smooth stones, dark and light-coloured leaves, small twigs and branches, and tiny shells in light and dark shades together with soft, pale sand. Contrast and structure are provided by the inclusion of a selection of our Elderly Stones. These are deeply textured and have a timeless quality. Crucially, the specific selection of each element for its beauty, detail, and contribution to the whole, creates a harmony which is both authentically natural and calming to the eye. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Mustard substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which, due to its pale colour and low visual impact, contributes to the overall soft aesthetic which this kit offers.

BECK
Inspired by Garrotxa volcanic area, Spain.
We have combined the dark, organic feel of our Beck Biotope Bed with striking pieces of Darwin Black Lava Stone to create a scene with impact and authentic natural vibe. The Beck Biotope Bed contains stones of light to dark grey, mixed with strips of bark, twigs, and crushed leaves along with shells in different subtle shades or showing bright white spots. All this is placed together with dark grey, textured volcanic sand from the mountains of Catalonia. The angular aesthetic of the Darwin Black lava stone with its grey to black colouring creates a moody ambience. When contrasted with bright green plants, Beck brings original and inspiring opportunities for the nature artist and their imagination. Finally, we include our dark, rich-brown coloured Wetland Artist Cocoa substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth, with dark colouration complementing the rest of the display.

NAUTILUS TAN
Inspired by the Great Rift Lakes, Africa.
This kit contains our Nautilus Tan Biotope Bed, comprised of a mix of different-sized shells, natural coloured sand and broken shell fragments, this product brings natural realism to your biotope. Also included is a selection of our Hole Stones, highly variable pieces displaying a range of warm to pale ochre colours. This kit is perfect for recreating biotopes of lakes, estuarine and marine environments. Fishes which engage with shells as part of their life cycles, by crushing, moving, or living inside them, will benefit from the behavioural enrichment this kit can provide. Finally, we include our Wetland Artist Mustard substrate, ideal for supporting lush plant growth and which combines beautifully with the colours of the hardscape and Biotope Bed.
