Water parameters: This Riverbed sand is inert, but the pebbles may slightly increase pH and carbonate hardness (kH) in your aquarium, which is usually not a problem and can even be beneficial for some fish and plants. However, if you have sensitive species like shrimp or certain fish that prefer very soft water, regular water changes with soft water or RO water can help counteract this rise. You can also use buffering substrates or additives to control water parameters. It's always recommended to monitor your water parameters regularly, especially when keeping sensitive species.
